“Music is an element of universal joy, as is humor. At Mastiii, as the name suggests, we promise to offer non-stop fun by combining both of these elements", said, Anita Varma, Associate Vice President, Programming, Mastiii. “75% of our content is music and 25% is dedicated to comedy, our USP. Breaking away from the half-hour format shows, we have one-minute fillers, gags, and jokes by some of the best-known comedians. We are confident that viewers will enjoy this maha dose of music and comedy making Mastiii, the nation"s fun-box", she added.
Surprisingly, the owners Gautam and Markand Adhikari didn"t have much to say on this occasion. Much of talking was done by Suresh Menon, Raju Srivastav, Sunil Pal, and Shailesh Lodha.
While the programming head spoke of fresh content, Raju Srivastav once again bored the audience with his inane and repetitive jokes on Naga babas, Gabbar Singh. Suresh Menon entertained a bit with his below the belt jokes – isn"t Mastiii supposed to be a family channel? The one person who really stole the evening was Shailesh Lodha, who had everyone in splits with his witty one-liners on Marwaris. The actor, poet is himself a Marwari. The only person who didn"t draw any applause was mimicry artist Sugandha Mishra, whose impersonation of Lata Mangeshkar, Rakhi Gulzar didn"t amuse the media a wee bit.
Well, Sri Adhikari Brothers will hope that these artists have saved their best for their TV viewers.
