Competing with the Gujarati girl Bhoomi Trivedi and Agra boy Rakesh Maini, Sreeram won the Indian Idol title.

The Grand finale was held at Filmistan Studio, and saw Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan as the chief guest. Bachchan was a religious follower of the reality show, all thanks goes to wife Jaya Bachchan, who loves to watch Indian Idol. Seeram was awarded the Indian Idol honour by the actor. He was showered with a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh, a car, a motor bike and one-year contract with Sony TV. Above all he got a life time chance to sing in one of the next Yash Raj Production.

Sreeram was the favourite of the audience and the judges from day one. With his dedication and singing talent, he proved himself to be a versatile singer and the most deserving person for the title.
