Veera Shivaji start airing from Sept 2 on Colors

A period drama 'Veer Shivaji' is based on the life and legend of Maratha warrior king Shivaji. The much-awaited TV serial is being aired on Colors channel from September 2. Produced by Contiloe Telefilms, the show portrays the special relationship between Shivaji and his mother Jijabai. It will telecast every Friday and Saturday at 8.30 PM.

Jijabai was instrumental in shaping Shivaji's character as a Maratha warrior in the turbulent times. "Great warriors go down in history because of the legacy they leave behind. 'Veer Shivaji' chronicles the making of the legend Shivaji, his growing years, how he was mentored to take on as a warrior king," Ashvini Yardi told PTI.

Ashvini Yardi added, “We will explore the uncharted pages from the life of this young Maratha legend and bring forth inspiring stories for today's generation. Bringing a historical figure like Shivaji alive on our channel allows us to further our cause of providing meaningful entertainment for our audiences."

However, actors Milind Gunaji and Shilpa Tulaskar are essaying key roles in the tele-drama 'Veer Shivaji'. The show will also showcase an important aspect on Jijabai who was integral part of Shivaji's life. It was under Jijabai's guidance and tutelage that Shivaji tasted his first success of conquering a fort at the tender age of sixteen, he said.
