PTI reported Aamir Khan as saying, “He has assured me that the government is already working on the issue and will continue to do so.” Aamir further added, “The CM told me that after watching the first episode, he had called a meeting of senior officials. It is an important issue for the entire country and he has decided to take it forward strongly.”
In the first episode of Satyamev Jayate that was aired on Sunday, Aamir had invited two journalists from Rajasthan who talked about their sting operation to expose doctors involved in female foeticide and how no action has been taken on them.
Gehlot, on his part, praised the actor for raising social issues like female foeticide. "The show is true to its name. Aamir has started a movement. He has taken up an issue which concerns the entire country. The sting operation happened in Rajasthan 7-8 years ago but it was Aamir who brought their good work before the country."
The Chief Minister thought that Aamir Khan's attempt at getting the culprits to books is commendable considering that despite being a busy Bollywood star, he has taken time out to raise these important issues. Gehlot told press persons, “His show will bring people forward and make them think that female foeticide is something which is not good for the country, society or self.”
