Aamir
Khan
has
tackled
the
sensitive
topic
of
love
in
the
fifth
episode
of
Satyamev
Jayate.
Though
Aamir's
attempt
at
talking
about
love
and
honour
killing
was
truly
scary,
one
cannot
help
but
opine
that
Aamir
and
his
team
should
have
done
an
in-depth
research
and
covered
a
detailed
aspect
of
the
topic.
Like
in
all
previous
episodes
of
Satyamev
Jayate,
Aamir
Khan
began
the
fifth
episode
in
a
'filmi
andaaz'
and
started
with
a
romantic
quote
and
then
went
on
to
show
how
Bollywood
cinema
have
epitomised
love
and
lovers.
He
then
subtly
introduced
the
audience
to
the
horror
of
honour
killing.
While
Aamir
made
his
point
clear
by
stating
that
as
citizens
of
a
free
country
and
as
adults,
a
man
and
woman
have
the
right
to
choose
their
partner.
Aamir
got
on
stage
the
mother
of
Rizwan,
whose
body
was
mysteriously
found
on
the
railway
tracks.
He
was
allegedly
killed
brutally
by
the
family
of
Priyanka
(the
two
loved
each
and
got
married
inspite
of
belonging
to
a
different
religion).
Aamir
also
spoke
about
Lokendra
and
Fehmida
who
are
on
the
run
since
Fehmida's
family
has
threatened
to
kill
the
couple.
While
the
stories
narrated
were
touching
and
truly
disturbing,
the
episode
seemed
a
bit
amateurish
since
an
in-depth
research
was
missing.
By
having
the
parents
of
the
couples
who
got
married
against
the
will
of
their
family
on
the
show,
Aamir
Khan
could
have
added
more
authenticity
as
the
audience
could
get
an
idea
of
the
parent's
point
of
view
and
how
their
psyche
functions.
While
all
the
previous
episodes
of
Satyamev
Jayate
talked
about
a
movement
of
change,
this
weekend's
episode
on
love
didn't
seem
any
different
from
what
we
already
know
about
the
horrors
of
honour
killing.
What
is
your
take
on
this
week's
episode
of
Satyamev
Jayate?
Did
Aamir
Khan
do
justice
in
tackling
a
sensitive
subject
of
love
and
honour
killing?
