Kya Hua Tera Vaada is derogatory to women!

Ekta Kapoor's Kya Hua Tera Vaada is one of the biggest shows aired on Sony TV. However, one cannot help but wonder if the serial is just another stereotypical take on women from a man's perspective!

In Kya Hua Tera Vaada, Mona (Mona Singh) along with her mother-in-law decides to teach Anushka Sarkar/Anu (Mauli Ganguly) a lesson for 'snatching' her husband Pradeep Singh (Pawan Shankar) from her. Anushka is the 'vampire' who has taken her husband away from her and her three children. The saas bahu team wants to prove to Pradeep that Anushka, being a career woman (She is shown as the CEO of a huge company) cannot take care of their home and children!

What is most shocking in Kya Hua Tera Vaada is that while Mona and her mother-in-law hold Anushka responsible for breaking the family, Pradeep gets less flak than Anushka! Shouldn't Mona be more upset with Pradeep as she trusted him completely and decided to spend her life with him?

While on one hand, we have Aamir Khan come up with useful and life changing shows like Satyamev Jayate, on the other hand, we also have Balaji Telefilms and Ekta Kapoor churn out anti-women stories.

The future of the idiot box lies in our hands...ask for change and the change will happen!
