Mandira
Bedi,
who
rose
to
fame
with
the
1994
popular
serial
Shanti
feels
that
just
like
films,
there
should
be
sequels
for
soap
operas
as
well.
Mandira
also
said
that
she
would
be
delighted
to
be
part
of
Shanti
if
there
was
a
sequel
to
the
hit
soap
drama.
Remember
the
bold,
beautiful
and
strong
minded
girl
who
took
the
small
screen
by
storm
in
mid
1990's?
Mandira
Bedi,
who
essayed
the
title
role
in
the
serial
Shanti
on
Doordarshan
set
the
small
screen
afire
back
in
those
days.
Shanti
was
the
epitome
of
courage,
combined
with
good
looks.
She
was
the
role
model
for
all
those
modern
young
girls
who
aspired
to
be
independent
and
strong
willed
like
her.
Mandira
Bedi,
who
later
did
variety
of
roles,
both
on
the
small
and
big
screen
is
of
the
opinion
that
though
there
are
a
few
nice
shows
on
TV,
nothing
is
path
breaking
like
Shanti.
As
of
now,
Mandira
Bedi
is
content
hosting
the
second
season
of
Jo
Jeeta
Wohi
Superstar,
a
music
reality
show.
Speaking
to
TOI,
Mandira
Bedi
expressed
her
desire
to
be
a
part
of
the
famous
serial
if
anybody
planned
to
make
a
sequel
to
Shanti.
When
asked
what
she
thought
about
producing
the
serial
and
working
in
it,
Mandira
said
that
it
is
a
tedious
task
and
would
be
more
interested
if
anybody
were
to
produce
the
soap
opera
and
ask
her
to
star
in
it.
However,
she
did
mention
that
she
would
love
to
be
involved
in
the
creative
aspect
like
writing
the
script.
