Indian Idol singer Puja Chatterjee's blackmailer tracked

The police have zeroed in on the culprit who has been blackmailing Puja Chatterjee of the Indian Idol fame over an MMS that allegedly showed Puja in a compromising position.

After a stressful and agonising wait, Indian Idol participant Puja Chatterjee can finally heave a sigh of relief. The police got to know that the person who was blackmailing her for almost a week over an MMS was her neighbour named Abhijit. Abhijit took this extreme step to avenge Puja after she turned down his proposal.

Speaking to the media, Puja's mother Meeta Chatterjee said, “Puja turned down his proposal. At that time, Abhijit was working as an executive in an engineering firm at Kumardhubi. Abhijit later got a job in Indore and now he is posted at Janjgir. Abhijit had met Puja six years back and disturbed her then. We complained to his family and he was reprimanded for his misconduct."

Puja's mom went on to add that though she is not sure how Abhijit got Puja's phone number, the guy made 25 calls to her between February 19 and 24 and sent several SMSs threatening her. Abhijit apparently even threatened to kidnap Puja.

After a formal complaint was lodged at the police station, the police have tracked down Abhijit to Janjgir, Chhattisgarh and have sent a team to arrest him. Though Abhijit has apparently asked for forgiveness from the Indian Idol singer and has promised to never harass her again, Puja's mom has asked him to surrender to the police since he has troubled them a lot mentally.
