Rakhi
Sawant,
known
for
her
outspoken
and
forthright
viewpoints
lashed
out
at
the
government
for
levying
12.36
percent
tax
on
television
and
film
stars,
effective
from
yesterday.
Rakhi
said
that
if
the
government
does
not
withdraw
the
tax,
telly
stars
like
her
will
not
have
any
choice
but
to
commit
suicide.
While
superstars
like
Salman
Khan,
Aamir
Khan
and
Shahrukh
Khan
can
easily
pass
off
the
extra
tax
levied
on
them
to
their
respective
film/show
producers,
it
is
small
time
TV
stars
who
will
have
to
pay
a
heavy
price.
Popular
item
girl
and
TV
actress
Rakhi
Sawant
is
extremely
upset
with
the
government's
decision
and
said
that
it
is
very
unfair
to
put
such
a
burden
on
small
stars.
TOI
quoted
Rakhi
as
saying,
"After
working
for
18
to
20
hours,
we
get
to
save
nothing!
Firstly,
heavy
EMIs
have
to
be
paid
for
the
home
and
car.
Then
we
have
to
pay
mammoth
amounts
to
maintain
our
body
from
tips
to
toes.
If
that's
not
enough,
there
are
salaries
of
the
driver,
makeup
man
and
cook
to
be
paid!
If
I
start
cooking,
how
will
I
go
to
work!
And
driving
in
Mumbai
at
odd
hours
is
not
an
easy
job,
so
all
these
people
are
a
necessity
for
us
and
not
a
luxury."
Rakhi
Sawant
is
furious
and
went
on
to
add
that
the
government
should
have
kept
their
unpredictable
job
in
mind
before
levying
such
tax.
According
to
Rakhi,
only
stars
like
Shahrukh
Khan,
Salman
Khan
and
Aamir
Khan
get
paid
Rs
4
crore
per
episode!
The
outspoken
lady
signed
off
saying,
"After
farmers,
now
stars
will
commit
suicide!
And
I
really
mean
it
because
there
is
no
other
option
left!"
