It is a known fact that entering Bollywood without a godfather or godmother from the film industry is almost as difficult as trying to reach for the sky using a ladder. Millions try and fall. Very few succeed and survive.

One other way to enter Bollywood seems to be through television. Many good actors have been successful in their transition from television to Bollywood. Few of the popular and recent such actors are Shahrukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Rajeev Khandelval, Madhavan, Ram Kapoor and so on.

All these actors made their mark as good actors on various television shows and slowly moved into making Bollywood movies. They had to work hard and persistently and only then did they succeed as known actors.

When we consider all the Bollywood actors, almost all of them are from movie background. Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bhachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Imran Khan; actresses like Kareena Kapoor, Rekha, Sonakshi Sinha, Kajol, Karishma Kapoor and the list goes on endlessly.

Here are the Bollywood actors who started their careers in television.

Shahrukh, Talented Anywhere

Shahrukh Khan, acted in TV shows like Fauji, Circus, Dil Dariya and made his film debut with Deewana opposite Divya Bharati in 1992.

Vidya, Authentic As Ever

Vidya Balan acted in the hit TV show Hum Paanch before acting in the romantic epic movie Parineeta opposite Saif Ali Khan.

Madhavan, A Genuine Good Actor

Madhavan acted in TV show Banegi Apni Baat before Mani Ratnam cast him in his movie Alaipayuthey. Alaipyuthey had Shalini opposite Maddy. The was even remade in Hindi as Saathiya with Rani Mukherjee and Vivek Oberoi.

Rajiv, A Very Good Actor

Rajiv Khandelwal acted in a hit TV serial Kahiin Toh Hoga before making his debut film Aamir. Though the movie did not work, his acting was appreciated widely.

Ayushmann Turned Actor From Anchor

Ayushmann Khurrana was an anchor after winning MTV Roadies Season 2. His debut movie was Vicky Donor and we all know about its success.
