Even before the Indian adaptation of hit American show 24 goes on air, the makers are planning its second season which is likely to be about an attack on the city of Mumbai.
The Indian version of the hit espionage series will be telecast on the small screen from October 4 on Fridays and Saturdays. It stars Anil Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Mandira Bedi, Neil Bhoopalam among others, while Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Rahul Khanna will be seen in cameo appearances. The show is written by Rensil D'Silva and directed by Abhinay Deo of Delhi Belly fame.
Rensil said, "We are planning a second season, but it is so hectic just to complete a day's shooting (of first season). And we are shooting for 40 days or so. We will be shooting it (second season) by end of November."
Rensil added, "I feel every season has its own story line. The second season of the international version was about a nuclear strike on LA so we can have something like a strike on Bombay. I feel if we go in order, then characters grow in order. So we will adopt season two but with our ethos."
When asked about the second season of the show, Anil Kapoor, who has been instrumental in bringing this show back home, said, "We are doing the second season but haven't thought much about it because we are first waiting for audience reaction."
Meanwhile, Rensil says he would love to direct the second season provided he is asked to do it. "I love this show a lot. I had more fun doing this show than doing a feature film," he said.
