Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and other B-town celebrities will come together for an event to raise funds for Uttarakhand flood victims. Buzz is that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will also be joining hands with them to support the cause.
Icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Anil Kapoor, AR Rahman, Boman Irani, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Pritam, Prasoon Joshi, Mukesh Bhatt, Ayushmann Khurana and celebrities from top television shows of the Star network such as Diya Aur Baati Hum, Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara, Saraswatichandra, Savdhan India, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev and India's Dancing Superstar among others will be seen supporting the initiative.
Stars will join the seven-hour on-air marathon event initiated by a television channel network to alleviate the sufferings of the people hit by the Uttarakhand floods.
"The noble initiative is an opportunity for the entire Hindi film industry to stand by the very people who have showered us with unconditional love and have made us who we are," Amitabh Bachchan said in a statement here.
"We have come together for fellow men who suffered the agonising pain that this unprecedented calamity brought with itself," he added.
Big B will lend his voice to recite from Prasoon's poetry, set to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music during the performance, titled 'Saath Hain Hum Uttarakhand', which is a joint initiative by Star India, Wizcraft, the Film.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, Madhuri Dixit shot for the promo of the initiative titled Saath Hai Hum Uttarakhand. Moved by the heartwrenching stories of children who lost their parents in the catastrophe, she is keen to return the smiles to Uttarakhand's children.
Amitabh Bachchan, Abhay Deol, Neha Dhupia and Bipasha Basu have also shot for the promos. Other names likely to be associated for the cause include Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Anil Kapoor and John Abraham. The source adds, "The ad revenue generated during the telecast will be channelled to not-for-profit bodies that are working to restore normalcy in the hilly region. The stars and all those associated with the on-ground event for the performances have done it gratis to espouse the Uttarakhand cause."
