Kapil Sharma, stand-up comedian and host of the very popular comedy show Comedy Nights With Kapil, has yet again got himself in a pickle. Apparently, Kapil, who was supposed to host CCL 4 on Saturday, walked out just before the event because he did not get a vanity van. At least that is what the CCL officials are saying.
A leading news website quoted one of the event organisers as saying, "He was to reach the stadium at noon to rehearse with Mandira. But he reached a good two hours late (2 pm), leaving no time for the rehearsal."
A CCL official apparently said that, besides reaching the venue late, Kapil's team started demanding last minute changes to the script and he was adamant on being given a vanity van. When the officials offered him an AC room, he refused as the commentary box was on the other side and were told he cannot walk all the way.
Apparently, Kapil and his team walked out of the event within half an hour of reaching when their demands were not met and worried this event might jeopardise his relationship with Salman and Sohail Khan, the co-owners of Mumbai Heroes, Kapil's team tried calling the latter. But Sohail was quoted saying, "They have been desperately trying to make amends, but we will not have them back."
But here is what Kapil's side of the story, a close friend of Kapil said that they reached a little late, 1 pm because they got caught in traffic and when they did reach there were no provisions made, not even chairs, water and Kapil had to sit on the floor for an hour and half and his back was hurting.
Kapil needs space to rehearse and a room was offered just when they were about to leave. And the reason they left was not because of a vanity van, they added. They also, said, "We have no hard feelings and are hoping to go for the Dubai match."
