Kiku
Sharda,
popularly
known
as
Palak
on
'Comedy
Nights
with
Kapil',
is
making
a
special
appearance
in
Farah
Khan's
upcoming
film
'Happy
New
Year'.
The
funnyman
plays
the
dance
teacher
of
superstar
Shah
Rukh
Khan
in
the
film,
which
is
set
for
Diwali
release.
"I
bagged
the
role
from
'Comedy
Nights
With
Kapil'.
Farah
saw
some
episodes
of
the
show
and
she
really
liked
me
in
it.
When
she
came
on
the
show
she
told
me
about
the
part.
I
am
teaching
dance
to
Shah
Rukh,
Boman
Irani,
Sonu
Sood
and
Abhishek
Bachchan
in
the
film," Kiku
told.
The
stand-up
comedian
is
elated
to
share
the
screen
space
with
Shah
Rukh.
"SRK
is
a
gem
of
a
person.
He
told
me
that
he
is
a
keen
viewer
of
'Comedy
Nights
with
Kapil' and
his
family
records
those
episodes
which
he
misses
during
shooting
schedules."
Kiku
would
be
seen
next
in
celebrity
reality
show
'Jhalak
Dikhla
Jaa
7'
and
the
actor
said
it
is
tough
to
juggle
between
the
two.
"I
don't
get
much
time
to
rehearse
for
dance
everyday.
At
the
end
of
the
day,
I
get
drained
out.
With
a
heavy
body,
it's
difficult
to
manage
but
I
am
trying,"
he
said.
On
the
reality
show,
the
actor
would
be
seen
in
his
female
avatar
of
Palak
because
he
feels
the
character
has
become
his
identity.
"I
have
performed
so
much
on
comedy
night
that
people
won't
have
any
doubt
whether
I
can
dance
with
a
heavy
body
or
not.
Palak
is
a
believable
character
for
my
audience," he
said.
Asked
whether
there
was
any
reference
point
to
the
character
Palak,
Kiku
said,
"There
is
no
reference
point
as
such.
I
have
never
met
any
female
who
is
like
her.
She
is
over
confident
and
does
not
care
about
her
physical
appearance.
She
thinks
everything
about
her
is
the
best,"
Kiku
said.
The
actor's
family
has
no
problem
with
him
playing
a
female
character
and
Kiku
also
takes
it
as
a
challenge
to
give
the
character
as
much
appeal
as
he
can.
"Psychologically
it
gets
challenging
at
times
to
switch
into
a
female
character.
But
the
moment
I
get
into
the
look
of
Palak,
I
automatically
get
into
the
mood
of
her.
My
wife
and
parents
have
no
problem
with
it.
My
wife
has
only
told
me
not
to
enter
the
house
in
the
Palak
get-up
after
the
shoot," he
said.
