The
big
screen
has
lured
many
but
how
many
actually
succeed!
After
being
washed
off
from
the
film
industry,
there
have
been
many
actors
who
have
made
their
debut
on
television.
Take
the
case
of
Raqesh
Vashisht
who
played
the
sweet
‘boy-next-door’
look
in
Tere
Bin
in
2001
and
another
couple
of
films,
failed
to
make
his
mark
in
Bollywood.
He
then
entered
the
Telly
world
with
‘Saat
Phere’,
‘Maryada’
and
the
recent
‘Qubool
Hai’.
Similar
is
the
case
of
the
popular
TV
actor
Ronit
Roy.
He
made
his
film
debut
in
1992
followed
by
a
string
of
films
where
he
went
unnoticed.
But
his
entry
in
television
with
his
popular
on-screen
roles
of
Rishabh
Bajaj
and
Mihir
Viraani.
Film
actor
Armaan
Kohli
was
seen
last
in
the
film
‘LOC
Kargil’
in
2003
and
Tanishaa
was
also
written
off
by
critics
in
all
her
films.
Their
stint
on
Big
Boss
raised
their
popularity.
Apurva
Agnihotri,
who
made
a
dream
debut
with
ShahRukh
Khan
in
Pardes,
tried
his
luck
in
a
couple
of
films
and
then
disappeared
.
He
became
quite
popular
in
the
TV
serial
‘Jassi
Jaisi
Koi
Nahin’
as
Armaan.
He
was
also
seen
in
‘Big
Boss
7’.
Avinash
Wadhwan
and
Vivek
Mushran,
both
prior
actors
in
the
1990’s
failed
to
grab
the
viewer’s
eyeballs.
Vivek
entered
the
serial
‘Parvarish’
and
Avinash
is
currently
seen
playing
a
father’s
role
in
‘Balika
Vadhu’
Ayub
Khan,
despite
having
a
‘filmi’
background
failed
to
gain
success
in
the
Bollywood
industry
with
his
initial
solo-hero
film
in
1994.
But
he
was
seen
in
different
side
roles
in
‘Dil
Chahta
Hai’
and
‘Gangaajal’
amongst
others.
However,
he
is
currently
seen
in
the
long-running
serial
‘Uttaran’.
Ruslaan
Mumtaz
and
Nakuul
Mehta
are
both
young,
familiar
faces
on
television.
Where
Ruslaan
made
his
debut
in
TV
last
year
in
‘Kehta
Hai
Dil….’
after
trying
his
best
in
Bollywood
which
didn’t
do
that
well,
Nakuul
is
popular
as
‘Aditya’
in
‘Pyaar
Ka
Dard
Hai….’.
Nakuul
had
acted
in
a
film
‘Haal-E-Dil’
in
2008
which
flopped.
The
latest
sees
Film
actor
Sahil
Mehta
who
did
a
film
‘Love
Express’
3
years
ago,
now
making
his
debut
on
TV
with
the
serial
“Suhaani
Si
Ek
Ladki’!
