Monday
night
saw
the
grand
commencement
of
the
much-anticipated
fiction
serial
‘Yudh'!
Splashed
all
around
on
posters
and
trailors,
this
is
one
serial
which
must
have,
by
far,
had
the
biggest
countdown
ever.
So,
was
this
serial
worth
the
wait?
‘Yudh'
is
the
story
of
Amitabh
Bachchan
playing
the
business
magnate
Yudh
(Yudhisthir
Skarwar)
and
his
struggles
in
personal
and
corporate
world.
The
first
reason
why
you
definitely
can't
miss
this
serial
is
of
course
Amitabh
Bachchan!
Yudh
is
suffering
from
a
neuropsychological
disorder
and
how
he
tackles
that
and
his
political
and
business
rivals,
fending
off
enemies
from
his
empire!
The
first
two
episodes
do
show
us
a
glimpse
of
the
‘angry-young-man'
image
in
bits,
leaving
the
audience
asking
for
more.
Secondly,
the
starcast
includes
Sarika,
Nawazuddin
Siddiqui,
Zakir
Hussain,
and
Kay
Kay
Menon
takes
the
serial
to
a
new
high!
The
director
combination
of
acclaimed
Anurag
Kashyap
and
creative
Shoojit
Sircar
will
keep
us
hooked
on
with
some
thrills
thrown
every
now
and
then.
The
show
is
scheduled
at
a
prime
time
at
10:30
pm
five
days
a
week.
Amitabh
Bachchan
scores
from
the
first
episode
itself.
With
very
minimal
make-up,
he
carries
off
the
tough
role
of
a
patriarch
and
famous
builder
effortlessly!
The
script
is
well-composed
with
a
tight
pace
as
the
story
will
wrap
off
within
five
weeks,
so
the
audience
will
love
to
get
hooked
on
and
ensure
they
don't
miss
a
single
episode.
On
the
downside,
the
story
seems
to
move
at
a
very
slow
pace,
despite
an
intriguing
storyline
which
brings
a
few
dull
moments
off
and
on.
The
story
seems
complex
in
the
beginning
with
some
scenes
needing
some
explanation
at
times.
The
narrative
could
have
been
better
and
it
complicates
the
story
at
times.
Being
a
kind
of
dark
story,
the
need
for
simplicity
is
seen.
Perhaps,
the
pieces
would
come
together
as
the
serial
proceeds.
Other
than
this,
the
serial
in
its
initial
few
episodes
has
managed
to
grab
eye
balls
and
seems
that
the
fiction
serial
will
turn
out
to
be
a
turning
point
for
Indian
television
too!
