Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8: Shahid Kapoor Dazzles, Leaves Viewers Enthralled! [PHOTOS]
Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 hit the small screens over the weekend and after Baahubali and Shahid Kapoor's wedding, all everyone spoke about was the popular celebrity dance reality show and Shahid's entry as the new judge.
The Colors' show marked Shahid's debut as a judge of a reality show for the first time on television. Shahid, who recently got married to Mira Rajput, stole the show without even trying to. Judging alongside Karan Johar, Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb, Shahid brought in a fresh spring breeze into the show, which was somewhat lacking in the previous seasons.
Performances of the contestants, which was shadowed by all the disturbance from the visual effects, took a back seat in the premier episode. Not to mention Shahid's opening act, which UN-intentionally set expectations pretty high for the celebrity contestants to match up to.
Shahid and Karan's fun-time being judges brought in a light-hearted feeling to the show, which surprisingly works wonders given the "elegant" and "dignified" comedy that was the staple of the show until now.
Watch it to have fun with Shahid, Karan and Manish Paul (the host of the show), and of course the performances of some of the most-loved television stars (which hopefully gets better and performance-oriented rather than just to showcase new techniques of visual effects).

Shahid Kapoor, debuted on small screen with his stint as a judge on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 8, replacing Madhuri Dixit.
Shahid Stood Out
Shahid Kapoor was seen joining Karan Johar, Lauren Gottlieb and Ganesh Hegde in judging the celebrity dance reality show and it was a given the Shahid stole the show.

The celebrity contestants, however, gave a predicted performance and the over-done visual effects worked against them at most points.

The fun time with Shahid and Karan was definitely the highlight of the film and the due gave a light-hearted feel to the usually poised show.

The bromance between Shahid and Karan, though took the spotlight rather than the performances from the contestants, it was a rather welcome change.

Shahid Kapoor's opening performance was one of the best performances on the show. Being a professional dancer, Shahid managed to dazzle the contestants as well as the viewers.

While Shahid and Karan were quite entertaining, when Manish Paul, the host of the show joined the duo, it was a roller-coaster ride for the viewers.
Shahid's Wit
Shahid's light-wit and 'cool'ness was a welcome change on the show. The Haider actor, who recently got married to Mira Rajput, was a breath of fresh air on the show.

Shahid, who has been a professional dancer, was seen giving sensible and seemingly accurate judgments for the contestants' performances.

The opening weekend of Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa season 8 obviously was taken over by Shahid Kapoor and hoping the upcoming episodes will have performances matching up to it.
