Jodha Akbar: Hamida Requests Jodha To Accept Islam

Jodha Akbar April 17th episode: Salim meets Anarkali in the market and tells her that he cannot live without her. Akbar tells Jodha that she has to look after the state while he would be in the war. Salim feels insulted knowing that he has to follow Murad’s order during the war. Akbar sees Murad and Salim fighting over the war policies. He reprimands them and says that they must be united to fight against a foreign country.

Hamida thinks she should stop the war anyhow. She comes to Jodha and says that the state is perhaps facing the greatest crisis. The issue of religion is creating differences between brothers and separating a son from his father.


If Jodha accepts Islam, Salim would easily get his right to the throne and all problems would be solved, opines the Chief Lady of the State. She begs Jodha to accept Islam and promises to convince Akbar.

Jodha accepts the proposal. Hamida says that it would be done secretly. Jodha sheds tears in front of Lord Krishna. She mentions that the God Himself has said that duty is the greatest religion for everyone. So, Jodha thinks she should perform her duty of protecting her son and the Mughal kingdom. Hamida sends dresses for Jodha and tells her to get ready for the conversion.

Daniyal meets Salim and says that Murad wanted to refuse the post of the Crown Prince and give it back to Salim, but Salim’s misbehavior made him arrogant. Salim says that the lust for power has changed the relationship between the brothers.

Daniyal also opposes Salim’s act of meeting Anarkali, breaking the Emperor’s order. He reminds Salim that his betrothed ladylove is Man Bai and he should not spend time with a dancer. Salim replies that he has never liked Man Bai and he will continue meeting Anarkali.
