Jodha Akbar: Akbar Rquests His Mother To Forgive Jodha

Jodha Akbar's April 22nd episode: Birbal asks Salim about his opinion on the matter of Jodha’s conversion. Salim says that Jodha is absolutely right in her decision of not accepting Islam. It is Jodha who has taught him the customs and rituals of the two religions. She has an equal respect for both the Hindu and the Muslim religions and so she should not accept any discriminatory view, says Salim.

Birbal asks Salim whether he would like to talk with Hamida and solve the matter. Salim replies that Jodha herself is strong enough to handle this problem and he would not like to underestimate her power. Murad and Daniyal hear what Salim says.

Rukaiya comes to Salim to tell him that Jodha is a selfish mother who could not sacrifice her religion for her son. Salim says that he supports Jodha. Jodha tries to please Hamida with sweet dishes prepared by herself, but Hamida rudely refuses it.

Jodha becomes upset. Akbar hears her discussion with Motibai and meets Hamida. He tells Hamida that she has supported her husband Emperor Humayun in all situations. So she cannot have any complaint when Jodha is doing the same, says Akbar. Hamida refuses to accept his logic.

Salim sends a letter to Anarkali where he writes that he wanted to see her once before going to the battlefield. But he cannot do it as she does not like to violate the Emperor’s order. He sends her the tabiz that was given to him by her mother when he was born. Akbar spends some time with Jodha as he is to leave for the war front very soon.
