Jodha Akbar: Farmer Uprising After Fields Are Burnt

Jodha Akbar February 27th episode: The brothel managers inform Anarkali that they have received no help from the emperor’s relief fund, as Salim has stopped it. Anarkali tries to talk with Salim, but Haider prevents her. She herself goes to the brothel to provide them with ration.

The common people are served food from the Royal kitchen, after their homes are ruined in the natural disaster. But the strange worms infect the food and people become sick after having it. Akbar scolds Salima Begum as she was the kitchen supervisor.


It is reported that the people of the kingdom are stung by the worms and the wounds are fatal. Akbar himself sees that his wound is not getting healed. He calls a meeting to discuss a way out. Someone suggests that the fields should be burnt to destroy the worms. Akbar accepts the proposal.

Jodha tells Akbar that he should have a discussion with the farmers before burning the fields which are closely connected to their lives. But Akbar thinks that people would understand his intention.

All the fields are set on fire to destroy the worms in Agra. But it is reported that the worms have spread throughout the whole Mughal kingdom. Seeing their fields on fire, the farmers become angry and they revolt against the emperor. Thousands of farmers gather in front of the palace and cry slogans against the Mughal misrule. Jodha forbids Akbar to meet the outraged mob, but he ignores her warning.

Mirza Hakim is informed that Akbar’s relation with Man Singh has turned into enmity. He thinks that Man Singh will help him in the war against Akbar. He befriends Man Singh.
