Jodha Akbar's March 4th episode: A maid servant suffers from contagious disease and Rukaiya expels her from the palace in the fear that the disease can spread among others. Jodha feels extremely bad for the maid. She calls a meeting and proposes that she wants to serve the common people being present amid them.
Rukaiya strongly opposes saying that Jodha would carry the germs inside the palace. Jodha replies that she will stay outside during the mission. Akbar thinks that Jodha can be in danger as the common people are not pleased with him presently. Jodha says that she will take the guise of a common woman.
Akbar permits Jodha for her mission. Mahtab wants to join her. He permits Mahtab too. When Jodha gets ready for her venture, Rukaiya comes to her room and requests her not to leave the palace, as Akbar is passing through the most critical phase of his life.
Jodha remembers Pandit Badrinath’s warning that she should never leave Akbar alone in this crisis. She changes her mind. But Akbar tells her that she cannot distract herself from a noble mission just because of him. He encourages her to serve the common people on his behalf. Jodha and her companions leave the palace with the best wishes from the family.
Salim comes to meet Anarkali in the brothel and sees that she hates him from the core of her heart. He thinks never to meet her again. Both Salim and Anarkali sell off their valuables to serve the poor.
