Jodha Akbar's May 4th episode: Akbar decides to return to Agra after his success in the war. With some of his soldiers, he takes the shortcut across the jungle, ignoring the warning of the man who alerted that the jungle is a den of the evil spirits. He hears someone’s cry for help. He runs here and there to find out who is asking for help. He becomes separated from his soldiers. A mysterious woman follows him. She feels an attraction for the Emperor.
The woman comes to him and says that she lost the path in the jungle as she came to collect firewood; she got scared as some men were teasing her. Akbar searches for the men, but does not see anyone. He says that he will safely drop her at home.
Akbar’s foot is hurt by a wild thorn. The woman looks at his blood with greedy eyes. She comes to him and insists on taking the thorn out of his foot. While she pulls the thorn, a few drops of his blood are spilled on a leaf. After he goes back, the woman collects the leaf with a triumphant expression.
Laboni, the mysterious woman, comes back to her den and meets her mother who is busy with her practices of black magic. Laboni tells her that she has collected the blood of the Emperor, with whom she has fallen in love. Laboni’s mother says that she has the best knowledge of black magic; she will apply it and make Akbar fall for Laboni.
Jodha finds it tough to decide whether to keep her promise to Akbar or to save Hamida’s life. She thinks Akbar will perhaps forgive her for breaking the promise, but he will never do the same if Hamida dies. She decides to go for conversion!
