Jodha Akbar's Rajat Tokas To Return With Ekta Kapoor's Show?

By Girija Narayan

It's good news for all the Rajat Tokas fans. The small screen's Akbar, from Jodha Akbar, will soon return with Ekta Kapoor's next show based on Chandragupta Maurya.

When Imagine TV's Chandragupta Maurya shut shop in 2012, speculations were rife that the show will soon be aired on Sony Entertainment Television. However, with lead actor Ashish Sharma's exit, the rumours soon died.

Now if reliable sources are to be believed, Balaji Telefilms is planning to bring a new show on the life of Chadragupta Maurya. Rajat, who played Akbar to perfection, has the talent needed to pull it off.

Sources inform that small screen's Akbar, Rajat Tokas has been roped in to play the lead role of Chandragupta Maurya and casting for the rest of the actors will begin after Hindu festival Navratri. When contacted, Rajat remained unavailable for comment.

Rajat won millions of hearts with his impeccable portrayal of Akbar alongside Paridhi Sharma, who played Jodha with equally brilliant depiction of the royal queen. It will be interesting to see who might play the lead actress alongside Rajat, if he agrees to play the role.
