Karan Patel, who currently is playing Raman in the show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, got engaged to Ankita Bhargava, an actress and the daughter of senior actor, Abhay Bhargava. Abhay also happens to play Karan's on-screen father-in-law on the same show.

The engagement took place on March 14th and the ceremony was attended by close family and friends of Karan and Ankita. While almost everyone from the show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, attended the ceremony, Divyanka Tripathi - Karan's better-half on the show, could not due to her leg injury.

Karan was until recently with Kamya Punjabi and he reportedly broke up with her before even meeting Ankita. Ankita and Karan met in December and by January they had met each other's family members.

Karan and Ankita admitted that Aly Goni, Karan's on-screen brother, got the two actors hitched and that the young actor and Abhay plotted this together. They will be getting married in May.

Ankita and Karan were dressed in Maroon and were seen looking made for each other. Aly Goni and Sangram Singh were seen taking pictures during the engagement ceremony with the couple. Ankita and Karan visited Divyanka in the hospital the very next day.

Ankita Bhargava is the real daughter of Abhay Bhargava who plays Karan Patel's on-screen father-in-law, Mr Iyer.
