Sharad, who is playing the protagonist in the show - Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap, recently shot a pooja sequence where carried a Shivling on his shoulders. The Shivling weighed 30kgs and the actor had to pump iron for two weeks to look good shirtless in the scene.
"I had to go topless for the sequence and had pumped iron for two weeks. I have been a staunch Shiv bhakt and fondly call him Baba," Sharad told TOI in a recent interview.
"Once the sequence was canned, it was time for him to oblige the cast and the crew, who urged him to do a bahubali act by lifting the 30-kilo Shivling," a recent report on the leading website said.
The special sequence is said to be a Mahaabhishek pooja near a Shivling and the actor worked very hard to get the shot right on the show.
Prabhas, the protagonist in the SS Rajamouli film, carried the Shivling to keep his mother from walking up and down a hill to fetch water to perform a pooja. Baahubali carries the Shivling to the water falls to make things easier for his mother.
It will be interesting to see why Sharad's character will carry the Shivling on the show, Maharana Pratap.
