Bigg Boss 10: Will The Common Man Help Surge The Show’s TRP?

Things would be very different this year at the Bigg Boss house. As the Season 10 of the show kick-starts on October 16, audiences will have no other option other than staying glued to the screen to see how things work when a common man meets a celebrity and vice versa.

And not to forget, people will love seeing the reaction of a common man when he or she lands up meeting superstar Salman Khan. Also, how differently Salman Khan would treat a common man when compared to the celebrities.

If there is one show that showcases crushes, link-ups and heartbreaks in the best possible way, it is none other than Bigg Boss! The common man's reaction to see their favorite celebrity or idol and then either love and respect them or either fight with them, will be a sure thing to watch.

A question that is rising in everyone's mind is that, why a common man as a contestant? Will bringing common people in the show help it regain the TRP?

As we all know Bigg Boss is a replica of the British television show Big Brother and controversies are the essence of it. With the TRPs falling for the past few years, celebs and controversial characters have been brought in as wild-card entries and guests. This makes sure the public watches it to know, what is different this year.

Until now, Bigg Boss has not permitted entry to anyone outside the fraternity. But this time, it looks like the common people are going to rule the house, hence, the tag-line for its latest season reads, "Aap hi ka ghar samajh lo".

Considering the TRP, this season is pretty crucial for the show. Last year, it was the lowest in the history of the controversial reality programme. Though Bigg Boss has a strong fan base, the competition is very tough, especially with the weekend shows like The Kapil Sharma show, The Voice Kids etc.

People are set to watch them on weekends and changing their schedule for anything new will be difficult. With the reputation that is carried by Bigg Boss's previous seasons it certainly is a difficult task to get into the minds of the audiences and make them believe that something big is to be unfolded.

This year the common man and celebrity sandwich will have the best ingredient of high voltage drama. Believing the fact that local is the new global, the makers are all set to give the show a new twist.

The head of Colors channel, Raj Nayak tweeted the latest promo, with a caption "Aaao Bulaao people from near and far -switch to @ColorsTV to see the biggest reality show on #IndianTelevision 16th October @BeingSalmanKhan."

A tentative list of commoners participating in the latest season of Bigg Boss is also out. Though little is known about these people. Manoj Punjabi, Mandira Chauhan, Nitibha Kaul, Parmod Kumar, Lokesh Kumari, Firoz Khan, Nikhil Mehta, Manjo Kumar, Kajol Tyagi, Davinder Devgan, Navin Prakash, Ruchika Singh and Priyanka Jagga are the shortlisted candidates for Bigg Boss 10.
