Kiku
Sharda,
who
played
Palak
on
Comedy
Nights
With
Kapil,
was
booked
for
hurting
religious
sentiments
of
the
followers
of
Dera
Sacha
Sauda.
Yesterday
(13th
January),
he
was
arrested
and
was
sent
to
judicial
custody
in
Kaithal,
Haryana.
The
latest
development
in
this
case
is
that,
the
comedian-actor
was
released
on
a
surety
bond
of
Rs
1
Lakh!
But,
Kiku
was
arrested
again
in
Fatehabad.
Apparently,
after
Kiku
was
granted
bail,
on
protection
warrant,
Kiku
has
now
been
taken
by
the
Fatehabad
police
(from
Kaithal).
About
the
incident,
the
self-proclaimed
Godman
Gurmeet
Ram
Rahim
took
to
Twitter,
"I
was
busy
shooting
OnlineGurukul;
just
got
to
know,
devotees
are
hurt
due
to
Kiku's
action.If
he
has
apologized,
no
complaint
from
my
side."
It
has
to
be
recalled
that
the
episode
of
Comedy
Nights
with
Kapil,
where
Kiku
mimicked
Gurmeet
Ram
Rahim
Singh,
was
aired
on
December
27,
2015.
Speaking
about
the
incident,
Kiku
had
said
in
an
interview,
"I
am
an
actor
and
the
actor
is
given
a
script
and
clothes
by
the
makers
and
will
be
instructed
to
act
accordingly.
As
an
actor,
I
had
fulfilled
my
duties.
I
never
realised
that
the
look
will
hurt
anybody's
religious
sentiments.
And
if
this
has
happened,
mistakenly,
I
have
apologised
before,
and
now
again
I'm
apologising." But
even
after
apologising
the
comedian
was
arrested!
Many
celebrities
and
people
took
to
Twitter
to
support
the
actor,
while
few
followers
of
the
Godman
too
supported
their
guruji.
After
this
incident,
we
can
say,
comedy
has
become
a
serious
business,
and
now,
to
make
people
laugh
also
the
comedians
will
have
to
think
twice!
