Who can forget the logo of Doordarshan and its signature tone? A long list of shows will run through your mind, if you recall the shows you watched during childhood or during 1990s. The shows that cannot be replaced or remade.

'Old is Gold' this saying holds true everywhere. The same way, the age old shows of television that were aired on Doordarshan had lot more than nowadays' saas-bahu dramas, conspiracies, cheating spouses, etc. The shows back then had crisp narration and quite believable plots. The whole family could sit together and watch every show!

Doordarshan enthralled the its viewers with infotainment. It had Comedy shows-Dekh Bhai Dekh, Shrimaan Shrimati, Flop Show to Indian cultural magazine show -Surabhi, Cartoons - Ducktales, Talespin and Jungle Book, Historical Shows - Mahabharat & Ramayan, Children's show - Vikram and Betal, Raja Aur Rancho, Alif Laila, Detective Shows: Byomkesh Bakshi, Tehkikaat and Surag, Dramas: Sea Hawks, Chandrakanta, Shanti and many other shows.

Dekh Bhai Dekh
One of the best sitcoms that was aired on Doordarshan's metro channel (DD2) on 6 May, 1993. It had talented actors - Sushma Seth, Farida Jalal, Shekhar Suman, Bhavna Balsaval, Navin Nishchol and others.

Chitrahar & Rangoli
Chitrahar was Bollywood songs television program that was aired on every Friday for half an hour, while Rangoli was aired Sunday morning at 8:00 am.

Ducktales & Talespin
Who can forget uncle Scrooge and his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie's adventures from Ducktale; and Baloo, Molly, Kit, Wildcat, Rebecca from Talespin?

Mahabharat & Ramayan
The historical shows Mahabharat and Ramayan were most loved epic dramas. Back then, some people even used to fold their hands, when they saw Arun Govil and Deepika Chikhalia, who played Ram and Site, respectively, in Ramayan.
