Serials
revamp
has
become
common
now,
but
Channel
revamp
is
rare.
Well,
this
shocking
news
has
hit
Channel
V
viewers,
as
the
channel
may
shut
down
soon.
Channel
V
started
as
an
exclusive
music
channel.
Later
on,
along
with
MTV,
Channel
V
too
incorporated
daily
soaps
and
reality
shows.
Initially,
the
Channel
disappointed
music
lovers,
but
now
that
the
channel
has
good
daily
soaps
(Gumrah,
Sadda
Haq
and
D4),
the
fans
will
be
disheartened
to
know
that
the
channel
is
shutting
down
soon!
Channel
V
Tweeted,
"Thanks
for
the
love
guys,
but
we're
not
going
anywhere.
We're
reinventing
ourselves
as
a
youth
music
channel
#ChannelVLives."
Well,
to
all
disappointed
fans,
here
is
a
good
news,
as
there
are
reports
that
the
Channel
V
network
will
be
collaborating
with
Hotstar,
Star's
digital
partner,
and
telecast
their
shows
on
the
web.
Star
India
spokesperson
was
quoted
by
Mid-Day
as
saying,
"Channel
V
will
be
revamped
as
a
youth
focussed
music
brand
effective
July
1."
It
has
to
be
recalled
that
Foxtel
shut
down
the
international
Channel
V
in
February,
this
year
(2016),
and
made
it
a
24-hour
music
video
station.
We
doubt
if
Indian
version
is
also
headed
towards
the
same
route?
It
is
also
said
that
MTV
may
also
undergo
revamp,
but
a
source
close
to
the
channel
denied
the
news.
A
source
was
quoted
by
the
leading
daily
as
saying,
"MTV
is
apparently
planning
to
go
back
to
the
basics.
There
is
no
confirmation
on
this,
but
it
is
going
to
be
all
about
music
and
they
will
do
away
with
their
regular
shows."
