Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actors Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya surprised their fans by suddenly getting engaged. Even though there were rumours of them dating, they were tight lipped about the move.

Divyanka and Vivek got engaged on Friday (15th January) and their engagement pictures went viral on internet. It was also reported that only close family members were present on the occasion. Even when Vivek uploaded picture on social networking sites, Divyanka, who is very active on SNS, didn't upload any. Recently, the actress shared a couple of pictures (See Slides).

Vivek cleared the rumours that they were not dating and it was an arranged marriage. Divyanka even told a leading daily, "There was no courtship as we were looking at the relationship culminating into marriage." She further said that they just wanted it (the ceremony) to be a private affair and didn't want to jinx it. Now, they are madly in love with each other.

Divyanka said, "We were going to Chandigarh to meet Vivek's family. They thought when everybody likes everyone, then why not turn this into an engagement." The engagement ceremony was a simple affair with some dance and masti.

When asked about the marriage, Vivek said that they will tie the knot by the end of this year and the dates will be decided by their parents.

Bigg Boss 9 contestant Digangana Suryavanshi who worked with Vivek Dahiya in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera was quoted by an entertainment website as saying, "It was a huge surprise. I know him personally. We worked together in Veera, which was his first show. Their engagement was a rather interesting development. I wish them a lifetime of happiness."

The actress also added, "It looks like everything is happening in Vivek's life in jet-set speed. He came to Mumbai, got his first show and in two years met his ideal partner and now he's engaged. I guess when two individuals who are destined to be together meet, such instant chemistry takes place."
