Doordarshan
is
all
set
to
revisit
the
archives
and
bring
back
their
popular
shows.
Recently,
the
channel
reintroduced
Shahrukh
Khan's
television
show
Circus
(1989).
We
had
reported
how
the
viewers
wanted
Shahrukh's
Fauji
and
other
old
show
to
be
aired
again
on
the
channel.
Looks
like
their
request
has
been
granted!
Not
just
the
Malgudi
days,
the
channel
is
planning
to
bring
1980s
other
shows
-
Wagle
Ki
Dunia,
Hum
Log
and
Buniyaad.
Doordarshan
Director
General,
Supriya
Sahu
was
quoted
by
a
leading
daily
as
saying,
"We
receive
several
requests
for
re-runs
of
Doordarshan's
iconic
shows.
So,
while
we
are
working
on
a
face-lift
of
the
channel
by
bringing
in
fresh
content,
we
also
want
to
give
our
audience
a
peek
into
the
past,
so
that
they
can
relive
those
beautiful
memories."
She
also
said
that
they
are
considering
a
prime
half-hour
weekend
slot
to
benefit
from
the
increased
viewership.
They
are
looking
forward
to
getting
fresh
sponsors
for
the
iconic
shows!
Supriya
Sahu
feels
that
these
shows
are
evergreen
and
they
are
liked
by
the
family
members.
She
added,
"These
shows
had
attracted
family
audience
in
the
past
and
are
still
fresh
in
people's
minds.
Even
if
you
watch
them
today,
they
don't
feel
dated."
She
added
that
they
have
realised
that
not
only
the
old
generation
(who
grew
up
watching
these
iconic
shows),
but
the
new
generation
is
also
fond
of
these
shows.
There
are
some
programmes
that
they
don't
have
the
'rights' to.
They
will
finalise
the
modalities
in
two
months.
The
programming
mix
will
undergo
a
complete
change.
So
are
you
ready
to
watch
your
favourite
old
shows
again
after
almost
three
decades?
