Sony TV Is Not Ready To Let Sunil Grover Go; Is the Channel Planning A New Show With Sunil?
Sony TV is not ready to let Sunil Grover go. Rumour has it that the channel is planning a new show with Sunil!
Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover's mid-air fight is the talk of the town these days. Because of this fight, both Kapil and Sunil's fans are upset as they are not seen on their favourite show - The Kapil Sharma Show. Fans are requesting Sunil to forgive Kapil and get back to the show as they are missing them.
On the other hand, Sony Entertainment Channel is also not ready to let Sunil Grover go as he has a contract with the channel. The channel is trying its best to bring Sunil back to The Kapil Sharma Show. When he told them that he will not return, they gave him an option to do other shows on the same channel and that's how he landed on Indian Idol 9 Finale as Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Devi.
However, the channel is still trying to convince Sunil to return to the show. They have also said Sunil that if he returns to the show, they are ready to keep his and Kapil's interaction minimal. A source was quoted by DNA as saying, "It's not just Kapil's show, even the channel has invested in it. Sunil has a contract with the channel and he cannot just leave it."

"He, on the other hand, has told them he doesn't want to return to Kapil's show, but they can utilise him for their other shows. That's how he made an appearance in the finale of Indian Idol 9 as Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Devi."

A source from the channel was quoted by the leading daily as saying, "They are terribly disappointed with how much bad press the entire Kapil Sharma episode has brought to the channel and the show."

"The ratings have dipped way more than what they thought it would and they are mostly not signing Kapil anymore. In fact, they might pull plugs on The Kapil Sharma Show once and for all."
Is the Channel Planning A New Show With Sunil?
Now that Sunil Grover's live show and his appearance on Indian Idol 9 got thumbs up from the audiences, apparently, the channel is planning to invest in Sunil for a different show.
The source further added, "Ever since the fight happened, even rival channel Colors (who have a long standing issue with Kapil) has approached Sunil for a show but he has not signed anything."
"Sony has rights to his characters - Rinku bhabi and Dr Mashur Gulati and also earn a chunk of money from his live shows where he performs in his avatars. And they are incredible characters in their own spaces already. So they might have a show with these characters."
