We
had
recently
reported
that
the
stand-up
comedian
Abijit
Ganguly
had
accused
Kapil
Sharma
and
his
show
(The
Kapil
Sharma
Show)
of
lifting
(Plagiarism)
a
joke
from
a
video
that
he
did
around
a
week
ago.
He
even
shared
two
video
links
to
show
the
similarity.
Abijit
took
to
Facebook
and
wrote
a
lengthy
message
on
how
disappointed
and
helpless
he
felt
as
the
popular
show
copied
his
favourite
joke.
He
wrote,
"There
I
saw
Kiku
Sharda
trying
to
use
my
joke
(and
honestly
making
a
mess
of
it)
while
Sidhu
and
others
laughed
out
in
their
usual
hysterical
manner
as
every
cell
in
my
body
burnt
with
rage." Now,
Kiku
has
responded
to
the
plagiarism
charges.
Kiku
was
quoted
by
a
leading
daily
as
saying,
"We
are
a
big
team
and
brainstorm
before
every
episode.
Someone
cracked
this
joke
and
we
made
it
a
part
of
the
script.
It
is
possible
that
the
same
idea
came
to
our
writers,
or
maybe
they
had
heard
it
somewhere.
It
is
not
that
we
do
not
use
popular
SMS
or
Whatsapp
jokes.
We
can't
keep
track
of
who
cracked
what
joke
and
when."
Abijit
had
mentioned
in
his
FB
post,
"I
understand
that
it's
possible
for
two
people
to
have
the
same
thought,
but
this
is
not
that."
He
further
wrote,
"No
Kapil
Sharma,
plagiarism
is
not
OK.
It
is
not
OK
to
do
this.
It
is
not
OK
to
lift
a
man's
joke
and
do
it
on
national
TV
where
millions
will
now
think
you
goddam
wrote
that
joke,
and
if
I
am
to
ever
perform
it,
it
comes
off
as
I
lifted
it."

"I
am
feeling
angry,
and
helpless.
I
just
hope
there
can
be
enough
noise
around
this,
so
that
it
doesn't
happen
anymore
with
anyone
else."

Is
Kiku's

plagiarism

justified?
