SIMRAN
BUDHARUP
ON
MAKAR
SANKRANTI
TV
star
Simran
Budharup,
who
is
currently
seen
essaying
the
pivotal
role
of
Khushi
in
the
long-running
ZEE
TV
show
Kumkum
Bhagya,
opened
up
about
her
love
for
the
festival
and
memories
attached
to
it.
Talking
about
Makar
Sankranti,
the
talented
actress
stated,
"I
have
been
raised
by
my
Aai,
and
she
is
a
hardcore
Maharashtrian
woman.
I
love
these
Til
ke
Laddoos
made
by
her
on
every
Makar
Sankranti
and
she
makes
it
the
best.
It
is
made
with
jaggery,
some
secret
ingredients,
and
loads
of
love."
She
added,
"Back
in
the
day,
I
remember
we
used
to
start
flying
kites
one
month
before
the
festival,
and
I
was
'pro'
at
it.
But
now,
I
celebrate
it
a
little
differently,
I
start
my
day
by
eating
my
favourite
Maharashtrian
delicacy
called
Gulachi
Poli,
and
without
competing,
enjoy
kite
flying
with
my
friends.
Our
Marathi
culture
has
a
saying-
'Til
gul
ghya
ni
goad
goad
bola'
which
means
eat
sweet
and
talk
sweet,
I
religiously
ensure
I
say
it
every
time
I
give
the
laddoo
to
someone.
I
pray
this
Makar
Sankranti
brings
lots
of
prosperity
and
happiness
in
everyone's
life."
