Diya Aur Baati Hum, January 1st episode written update: Suraj prays to God that the bag is found. The taxi driver gets the bag of documents and Bhabho thanks him. The taxi driver assists them in getting another taxi. They reach the police academy. Sandhya remembers her words to her father. She shows the letter and the guard tells them to go to the administrative office.

The taxi stops and Sandhya sees the Indian flag. Sandhya tells a senior policeman that she has come for training and he takes the family along inside. The policeman takes Sandhya along and asks the family to wait out.

Meena asks her husband whether she can help him. He reminds her of Bhabho’s punishment. Emily asks Mohit to wait for her. He tells Chhavi to make daliya for Pari and reminds Emily that she has given appointments to clients. Emily requests Chhavi to make daliya and leaves with him.

A peon carries Sandhya’s luggage to her room. Bhabho is upset that Sandhya didn’t wear ornaments and a woman’s wrist without bangles doesn’t look good. At home, Meena taunts Chhavi and poisons her ears and helps her. Chhavi shrugs Meena. Sandhya comes in front of her family in the police uniform and Suraj and Babasaa are proud to see her. Bhabho, shocked, drops the gold jewellery and it falls at Sandhya’s feet. She picks them up and gives it back to Bhabho. Bhabho tries to tell her about the jewellery but just then she is called for an orientation and Suraj tells her to leave. Sandhya tells Bhabho and leaves. Bhabho looks down at the jewellery and is concerned.
