Was Playing Harshad Chopda's Sister In Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai And: Star Plus Lead Shocked As Her Show Ends

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai update: Star Plus has been dominating the TRP charts since years now, securing the maximum viewership across all GECS. Shows like Anupamaa, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin have been doing quite well in terms of ratings. While Rupali Ganguly and Gaurav Khanna starrer Anupamaa is a TRP topper, other daily soaps have also created ripples on the small screen.

STAR PLUS SHOW TO GO OFF AIR

Despite the generation leap, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has continued to grab eyeballs. Who said a show cannot retain its audience after 14 years? YRKKH is a perfect example. The daily soap starring Pranali Rathod and Harshad Chopda has clinched the number two spot as per BARC TRP ratings.

Being the market leader, Star Plus often has to take tough calls when it comes to programming. However, some of its decisions have set several tongues wagging. Both Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 and Banni Chow Home Delivery were doing well when the channel pulled the plug on it. Although the two shows were stable and garnered decent numbers, the GEC axed them.

Another show is meeting a similar fate. We are talking about FALTU. The show starring Niharika Chouksey and Aakash Ahuja will soon bid adieu to the audience. It will air its finale episode on August 7, ending its stint after a successful run of nine months on the small screen.

Mohit Malik starrer Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si will replace Faltu at 9pm from August 8. The decision came as a shocker as Faltu is constantly finding a spot in top five shows list. Last week, it received a TRP of 2.1 and performed better than Imlie and Pandya Store. The numbers were at par with Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.

Niharika Chouksey, who plays the titular role in Faltu, expressed her pain as her show is ending next month. The YRKKH star said that she is not ready to believe her show is going off air. She mentioned that the show has had good TRPs since the beginning and she cannot fathom how a show can be pulled off air if it is doing well.

"I was playing Harshad Chopda's sister in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata and from there, I got to play the lead in Faltu," she told ETimes as she spoke about her experience. She stated that she was seen as a cricketer, who was a bahu and even played a guy in Faltu.

Niharika is upset over her show's fate but she is looking forward to better things in her career.
