Citadel OTT Release: Following the success of "Family Man 2," fans eagerly await Samantha Ruth Prabhu's upcoming and highly anticipated web series, "Citadel." Samantha concluded shooting for the Indian segment of Prime Video's "Citadel" four to five months ago, igniting excitement among fans. However, despite the completion of the shoot, the release date remains shrouded in mystery.
However, recent buzz on social media hints at a potential release window for the "Citadel" web series. Sources suggest the series might hit screens in the last week of May or the first week of June, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Notably, Samantha is slated to join the promotional activities for "Citadel" starting in March.
In this espionage-themed series, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, along with Varun Dhawan, plays a pivotal role as a spy alongside Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan. Directed by Raj and DK, the creative minds behind "Family Man," "Citadel" promises an intriguing storyline filled with action sequences led by Samantha.
Currently, Samantha is tackling a health challenge, dealing with myositis, which has placed her on a temporary hiatus. After finishing her projects, she currently focuses on recovery and is expected to undergo treatment in the USA. This anticipated break might last up to a year, indicating a delayed return to filming.
This year, Samantha was seen in the Tollywood movie "Khushi," featuring Vijay Devarakonda in the lead. Despite her appearance, the film garnered an average reception at the box office.
Citadel Expands Its World With Varied Spin-Offs And Star-Studded Casts
Citadel, a spy action thriller series created by Josh Appelbaum, Bryan Oh, and David Weil for Amazon Prime Video, is executive produced by the Russo brothers. The show features Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas as agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh, respectively, with Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville in prominent roles.
Expanding its universe, Citadel will introduce spin-off series set in various locations, including the Italian Alps, India, Spain, and Mexico. The Indian installment, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is helmed by Raj & DK. Another spin-off titled Citadel: Diana, set in Italy, is produced by Cattleya, an ITV Studios division, and is scheduled for a 2024 release.
