Bommarillu Bhaskar has made his comeback to direction two years after his failed attempt Orange in 2010. For his latest directorial venutre Ongole Gitta, he has cast Ram and Kriti Kharbanda, who are looking for a big break of their career. He has chosen a mass masala subject for the movie and seems to be successful in his attempt to impress the audience.

Ongole Gitta is a romantic-action entertainer with all commercial ingredients to woo the mass audience. Ram and Prakash Raj's excellent performances are the main highlights of the film. GV Prakash Kumar's music, Mani Sharma's background, A Venkatesh's cinematography, Kishore Das and Raghu Babu's humour, good choreography of fights and dance sequences are its other attractions.

Bhaskar has chosen a simple storyline, which is set in the backdrop of a mirchi yard, but he made it interesting by giving it a realistic approach without diluting commercial aspects. The first half of the film has nothing much to boast about, but it impresses you with a few romantic songs, fights and comedy. After the interval, the film goes into flashback mode. But the story gets struck in the second half with dragging narration. The fight in the climax is superb.

Ongole Gitta has all mass elements like action, music, dance, comedy, sentiments and dialogues, but it lacks the soul that is story. If the director had good script it could have been wonderful movie.

As Mirchi yard businessman White, Ram Pothineni, who has pinned lot of hopes on Ongole Gitta after the failure of Endukante Premanta, has delivered wonderful performance in the movie. He rocks you in romantic, action and dance sequences. He is surely set out as a hero with a mass appeal. Kriti Kharbandha has no much scope in the movie and she has been merely used as a glam doll. She impress you in song sequences. Her chemistry with Ram is treat for the lovers of romance dramas.

As Adikesavulu, the Chairman of the Yard, Prakash Raj has also delivered brilliant acting. He has even done a couple of nude scenes. His performance, which seems to be much better than that of Ram, is big asset to the movie Ongole Gitta. Others like Abhimanyu Singh, Kishore Das, Raghu Babu Ahuti Prasad, Jayaprakash Reddy have also done justice to their respective roles.

In the technical front, Man Sharma's background score and GV Prakash Kumar's soundtracks are the main highlights. Prakash's compositions like 'Ye Pilla...', 'Raa Chilaka...' and 'Yerra Mirapallo' are good to hum. Venkatesh's camerawork is also a treat in the production elements. His picturisation in song and action sequences is brilliant. Besides this, choreography of dance and fights sequences is another highlight of the film Ongole Gitta.

Overall, Ongole Gitta has wonderful performances and rich production values. But in terms of story, the movie does not offer anything great. It is a good treat for mass audience.
