After the success of Rangam movie, Jeeva is back with his new movie Roudram, and it is a dubbed version of Tamil movie Rowthiram. Shobarani producing Telugu version on SVR Media private limited banner. Scripted & directed by debutant Gokul and Popular Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya plays an important role in the movie.

Story: Movie starts with on the backdrop of the 80s, the story begins with Shiva (Jeeva), a young and hot blooded man brought up with ideals. His greatest influence is his grandfather (prakash raj) who teaches him to fight against injustice at all costs. But then, Jeeva's parents (jayaprakash, lakshmi) don't want him to get into any trouble.

The story takes a turn with the arrival of Priya (Shriya), daughter of a policeman (Babu Anthony). Shiva and Priya fall in love and enters the villain (ganesh acharya). As usual, the villains do their best to cause problems to Shiva and how he handles them forms the rest of the story.

Artist Performance : Jeeva was supposed to have chosen a script that would have had his box-office fortunes for the year intact. Shriya's not part of the crew to act, she's gorgeous and is the film's cooling factor. Prakashraj has a very brief guest role but the impact of his character is there throughout the movie. Jayaprakash is emerging into a very fine actor with every passing movie. Ganesh Acharya as the gangster has not much to do but to jive to the ‘Goli Maaro’ number.

Technical Department : Stunt master Anal Arasu is the second hero of the film. He has choreographed some astonishing fight sequences. The theatre fight in particular has come out well. Prakash Nikki’s music is average , no songs make one to take notice. Shanmugasundaram’s cinematography is excellent adding on to the proud list of outstanding technicians giving to the Indian cinema over the past decade or two.

Analysis: First half of the movie adequate. Second half is stuffed with the content and a couple of interesting twists. If the screen play had been more linear and taut, it would have made a huge impact. On a whole, Roudram is a not a bad film. We have to wait and see how it works at the box office.
