Swamy Ra Ra

Happy Days star Nikhil Siddharth is back with his latest outing Swamy Ra Ra, which has all newcomers in technical department and they have breathed fresh air into the film. Written and directed by debutante Sudhir Varma, the movie has simple story. What makes it interesting watch is its stylish film making.

Swamy Ra Ra is a crime thriller with a comical touch and Nikhil's wonderful performance is the main highlight in the film. Sudhir's interesting narration and dialogues, Sunny MR's music and background score and Richard Prasad's cinematography and Ravi Babu and Jeeva's comedy timing are the other attractions of the movie.

Sudhir Varma seems to have been influenced by Ram Gopal Varma, Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie's filmmaking style. Though his story is simple, he makes it quite engaging with his beautiful screenplay. He has given special attention to logic and he makes sure that the movie has no unnecessary fights and songs. He has also tried to tap out new and fresh product from the entire technical department.

Surya (Nikhil) is a small time thief, who meets journalist Swati. They come to know that a small golden idol of Lord Ganesh is stolen from the secret chambers of Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram. Along with some thieves, they start searching for this statue. What happens to the statue? Who will find it? Answers to these questions should be seen on screen.

The story of the movie is all about how the lead pair gets entangled in villain's quest for an antique Ganesh idol. As a pick-pocketer, Nikhil has given very good performance and he looks at complete ease in all kind of scenes. A change in his dialogue delivery is also noticeable. He has shown lot of maturity in his acting, when compared to his last releases.

Sudhir has designed the role of Swati very well and she has delivered natural and spontaneous performance. Her chemistry with Nikhil is a treat to watch on screen. As hero's friend, Pooja Ramachandran has delivered a neat performance. She looks beautiful.

As a villain, Ravi Babu has done justice to his role, which has a comic side to him. Jeeva is good in his role. Others have also done justice to their respective roles. Sunny MR's music is the main highlight in the technical department. All his songs are good and tracks like 'Life Antey' and 'Krishnudi Varasulantha' are hummable. His background is excellent and it helps the narration.

ebutant Richard Prasad's cinematography is another attraction in the technical front. His good framing techniques has helped the director present his ideas properly on screen. Debutante Sudhir Varma has done excellent job in departments like story, screenplay and direction. Karthik Srinivas' editing and other technical works are also commendable.

Overall, Swamy Ra Ra is a good attempt by Sudhir Varma and his team. The movie has excellent production values and worth your money.
