Vetadu Ventadu Critics Review

filmibeat.com
Vetadu Ventadu, which is the dubbed version of Vishal-Trisha starrer Tamil movie Samar, has hit the marquee today. With intelligently structured plot, director Thiru brings in a brand new experience for Telugu viewers. Vishal and Trisha will rock you with their action and glamour.

Vetadu Ventadu is a mystery thriller with a few commercial ingredients and Vishal's amazing performance is the main highlight in the movie. Thiru's screenplay, Yuvan Shankar Raja's soundtracks, Dharan Kumar's background score, Richard M Nathan's cinematography, well-choreographed action and dance sequences, and beautiful locales are its other attractions. Its one big drawback is that it has several plot-holes.

The movie is set in a backdrop of a triangular love story. It is all about a forest-trek guide, who leaves for Bangkok in search of his lady love and gets stuck in a web of bizarre events. The film has intricate plot and racy narration with enough number of surprising twists and turns in the thriller. The director is successful in holding the attention of the viewers throughout the movie.

Vishal is a forest-trek guide in Ooty and he is in love with Roopa Sunaina, but she soon parts her way citing compatibility issues. She sends an apology letter for breaking away and a ticket to Bangkok, where she resides now. Being his first trip to a foreign country, Shakthi seeks help from his beautiful co-passenger Trisha.

Slowly, Vishal and Trisha become friends and he tells her about his lady love. Soon after reaching Bangkok, Vishal is caught up in a web of deceit when life becomes a reality show staged by two deadly guys JD Chakravarthy and Manoj Bajpai. What happens next will form the rest of the story.

Thiru's screenplay is the main strength of the film, which thrills you with different twist. The first half of the movie is brilliant and the second half is cleverly narrated. The director unveils the turns in the story without confusing audience, which makes you sit on the edge of the seat and watch biting your nails.

Vishal has delivered a mature performance and his expressions are superb. His body language in action sequences is excellent and his looks are apt in the film. His chemistry with Trisha is a treat for viewers. Trisha takes a break from her usual running-around-trees kind of role and her characterisation is good. Sunaina has done a decent job in her limited role.

JD Chakravarthy and Manoj Bajpai have got good roles, which are different from the usual. They have done good performance and they impress you with their exaggerated dialogues and gestures. Richard M Nathan's camera-work is the main highlight in technical departments. Be it in a chase sequences or forest scene, he has done a neat job. S Ramakrishnan's dialogues are excellent. Yuvan Shankar Raja's compositions are good. Especially song 'Vennellona Aduthunna...' is melodious to listen. Dharan Kumar's background score is also good and it helps to heighten the intensity of some scenes.

Overall, Vetadu Ventadu is a good commercial entertainer and it should be watched for Thiru and Vishal's works. It is must watch movie for action lovers.
