Deepika to make B'wood debut

Bangalore based model cum actress Deepika Padukone who had a good launch in Kannada film Aishwarya featuring Upendra and directed by Indrajith Lankesh will be working in a new Hindi film titled as Happy New Year in which Shah Rukh Khan is the hero.

This film is directed by Farah Khan who had contacted Deepika six months ago and had advised her to keep dates free from January 2007. Now the news is that the film will be launched from January.

After Aishwarya, Deepika was approached by director Gautham Menon who had announced that the Super Model will be working in a Tamil film to be directed by him with Surya in the lead. Though there was several rounds of discussions regarding this film, Deepika had not confirmed her availability for this film. Dipika's manager had also confirmed that though the beauty had got several offers from other Hindi film producers, she would be taking up these projects only after finishing her work in Shah Rukh Khan film.

Now comes the news that the film will be starting its shooting in January.
