Mahesh Babu acquitted by Warangal court

Pokri fame 'Prince' Mahesh Babu was today acquitted by the Warangal District court in an assault case filed by a local video shop owner.

Delivering the judgment in the case, the Judge, said that, as there was no evidence to prove that Mahesh's involment in the case. Court struckdown the case.

Earlier, Mahesh Babu was asked to appear before the court on July 4, 2006. But Mahesh Babu did not present himself before the court. The judge asked his counsel to ensure that Mahesh Babu was present in the court on Thursday July 6, 2006 without fail.

The case was filed by a video shop owner against Mahesh Babu and director Gunasekhar of Ramayanam and okkaddu fame. He alleged that the duo had visited his shop while release of Arjun film and had beaten him and ransacked his shop. He also filed a case with the police alleging that they had damaged the furniture and smashed the glass and film CDs.

Mahesh and Gunasekhar were in Warnagal town for the campaign programme of Arjun, produced by Mahesh's brother Ramesh Babu during that time.
