This saying absolutely suits the cinema industry. We can analyze easily why or how a movie has become a blockbuster, but, we can't analyze a flop.
Pokri has turned out to be a record buster of sorts. It is creating history at the box office and also in terms of direction, action, camerawork, stunts, choreography and music.
Before the release not many were confident that this title would hit such a high.
Mahesh Babu, many thought with his soft looks may be a dud in the main lead. Nothing now seems far from that wild imagination.
His talent has been proved in every shot and frame. What is surprising is that he makes himself so very suitable for the title that now its unthinkable to imagine any other hero in that role. Big B after witnessing a special screening organized in Mumbai was all praise for Mahesh Babu.. That it self is a testimony.
His understating of the character and getting in to shoes and skin of Pokri is a mark of his matured performance. Mahesh Babu with just about a dozen titles under his belt has leaped in to the super star category with this stellar performance. His body language, his dialog delivery and timing superbly thrill the audience. The regular movie goer gets a fresh feel of the character right from the start, nowhere are his expectations let down. Each shot leaves him drooling over the character.
Mahesh Babu's power packed performance propels Pokri to land on top of the box office collections.
Pokri seems like an ODYSSEY - a long but comfortable journey. It is some thing like traveling in a Rolls Royce on a super highway at the speed of light
The screen play is strong though it is an old plot. The treatment is effective and visualization is at its very best.
The director's thought process must have gone in to a super conscious mode to deliver such a thunderous hit. His straining of his every nerve to make the team bring out brilliant performance of every single character would now be text book material for all future generations,
Sequences and continuation leave no blip in the viewer's joy. Not a single frame is wasted. Every second is filled with thrill.
All the songs are foot-tapers. Mani Sharma's music keeps ringing in the ears much after one leaves the theatre. It is evident that choreography for the movie has been painstaking gone through step by step as one sees no blessed repeats or copy from elsewhere.
With such combination of talent going in to the making of Pokri, it is time now for producers - Vishno Academy and Indira Films to go laughing all the way to the bank.
The present collection is estimated at Rs. 40 + crores.
