suicide
in
Chennai
on
Monday.
She
played
roles
in
films
like
Pelli
Sandadi
and
Appula
Apparao
and
TV
serials
in
Telugu
and
Tamil
like
Balanagamma
Pelli,
Katha
Kaani
Katha
and
Naniyam.
The
actress
hails
from
Amalapuram
and
her
husband
Suryanarayana
died
a
few
years
ago.
Alekhya
was
staying
in
Rangarajapuram
of
Chennai
and
was
mentally
upset
after
her
husband's
death.
She
was
addicted
to
liquor
recently.
As
she
was
consuming
liquor,
her
son
Ravi
left
for
his
friend's
house.
In
an
inebriated
condition,
she
reportedly
suffered
severe
mental
stress
and
committed
suicide
by
hanging
from
a
ceiling
fan
in
their
house.
The
police
registered
a
case
and
shifted
the
body
to
Rayapet
government
hospital.
After
holding
the
inquest
and
post-mortem,
the
body
would
be
shifted
to
their
native
place
Amalapuram
on
Wednesday,
her
family
sources
said.
