Anushka with Deepak in Arundhati

Mumbai lad Deepak proved himself as a hero in Telugu film industry with Sampangi. Later, he played hero in Kanulu Moosina Neevaye and Premalo Pavani Kalyan. However, the films failed at the Box Office and he could not earn recognition. Later, he appeared in the role of heroine's brother in Bhadra. Presently he is playing hero in a film titled Arundhati, which has Anushka in the title role.

It is said to be a woman-oriented film being produced by M Shyamprasad Reddy of Anuksam and Anji fame and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. It is said to be based on the problems faced by women.

Anushka is associated with only glamour roles so far. This is the first time she has got an opportunity to prove herself as an artiste.
