E-City Films has bagged the distribution rights of Shankar Dada Zindabad (SDZ), the Telugu remake of Hindi hit film Lage Raho Munnabhai. Directed by Prabhu Deva and produced on the banner of Gemini Film Circuits, this Telugu version has Padma Bhushan megastar Dr Chiranjeevi and Karishma Kotak in the lead roles.
The film also has Srikanth in the role of ATM. Another specialty of the film is that Pawan Kalyan is playing the character played by Abhishek Bachchan in the original while Sada plays the role of Dia Mirza and Sayaji Shinde plays the role of Boman Irani. Actor Dilip Prabhavalkar, who played the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the original will play the same in the remake version too.
E-City Films has acquired the regional distribution fights for sub-territories Vizag, Krishna and Guntur which forms part of coastal Andhra and comprises of 29 per cent of the total state market. This is the first regional and largest ever distribution rights acquired by E-City Films. It seems to smell the potential of Telugu market and is looking forward to acquire three to four big banner films this year. In addition to the aggressive interest shown towards regional movie distribution, E-City Films, will also focus on distributing quality Hindi and English films in Gujarat, Nizam, Delhi, UP and Mumbai.
