Police reopens case against Chiru's son-in-law!

Megastar Chiranjeevi, father of Srija is yet to bless his son-in-law! Besides this, what newly wed Srija has to face is the name of her husband Shirish Bharadwaj being dragged into a five-year-old kidnapping case!

According to sources, Shirish was arrested in 2002 for abducting a girl in Hyderabad. Police found Shirish with the girl near a lodge and the girl was 16 years old at that time. Police returned the girl to her parents, who had lodged a complaint for abduction. Shirish was arrested and a case was booked for obtaining the custody of a minor. He was then remanded and brought before a court, but was acquitted as the girl did not testify against him.

Shirish's father G.Ramanamurthy told reporters that he had advised his son against having affair with Srija after coming to know her family background. He said after learning about the recalling of the case against his son, "I came to know of their relationship three months ago and asked my son to stop it because of the difference in the social status of the two families. He did not agree."

Ramanamurthy said he and his wife were staying at a relative's house fearing threat from Chiranjeevi's fans. Though Srija and Shirish claimed on Wednesday that they needed police protection, they did not make any formal request on Thursday. According to sources, the couple stayed with friends on Wednesday night, but left for Chennai on Thursday.
