Tamil <i>Pokiri</i> faces hardships

Pokiri of Maheshbabu, which rewrote the 75-year-old film history is being remade in Tamil and Prabhudeva is making his debut as director through this film in Tamil. However, the film faces hiccups right from its start. It is learnt that differences of opinion cropped up between the hero and the director and rumours were agog that the hero demanding the change of director. However, the rumors were proved false as the film was almost completed successfully.

Now, the film's release has become a problem as the producer of the film SA Chandrasekhar, the father of the film hero Vijay, had earlier promised the distributors that he would refund them the losses which they incurred while releasing the film Aadhi which was a big flop. Now the distributors were threatening to halt the release the film unless the producer fulfill the financial commitments he made to them earlier. If everything goes well, the film would hit the screen during Sankranthi in 2007.
