Vishal's Salute hits the floor

Vishal film Salute hit the floor on the 15th of August. The flick is directed by Rajashekar and produced by Vikram Krishna under the GK Film Corporation banner. The films shooting has going on since in Annapurna Studios. Dr. D Ramanaidu gave the first clap and Devi Vara Prasad switched on the camera under the honorary direction of Puri Jagannath.

Vishal said, "I felt that I needed to do a proper Telugu film. This dream of mine has come through with this film. Upendra is playing a special role in the film. It is not a villain's role as rumoured but it is a role on par with the hero that he playing. My role is that of ACP Satyam. This is director Rajashekar's debut film. But he is not a debutante in the sense that he has been working as the assistant director to director Suresh Krishna. I hope that this one will be as successful as Telugu dubbed films."

The producer Vikram Krishna said, "We are starting the shooting schedule with a song featuring Nayantara and Vishal along with 45 other male and female dancers at Ramoji Film City. The films story is based on real life and real incidents. The film will be shot only in Hyderabad. It will be released in Tamil and Telugu at the same time."

Presenter GK Reddy said, " I am proud of both my sons having made their mark in the Film industry. I have always wanted to make a Telugu film with both my sons. Now I have achieved that and I am very happy." Debutante director Rajashekar said, "I entered the film industry after working as a journalist for India Today for a while. Vishal liked the story of the film and gave all the support that I needed for the film to become a reality."

Music director Harris Jayaraj said, " There are six songs in the movie which are very melodious. Four of them were composed in Dubai. I composed the music for Vishal's earlier film Chellame. I am very happy that Salute has been launched on our nations Independence Day.' The films scriptwriter said, "The film unit and I go a long way back - right from the film Prema Chadarangam. While listening to the story, I cried atleast three or four times. The subject is very intense."

Other people in the cast apart from Vishal are Nayantara, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Brahmanandam, Chandramohan, Ali, Jeeva and Ravi Kale. The camera working the film is being handled by RD Rajasekhar and lyrics by Sitaramasastry and Chandrabose. The films screenplay, direction and story is by Rajashekar. Anthony is the films editor.
